News on Ollie Gordon Great, Presley Deserving, Martin Going to Play, Chiefs Keeping Cooper

STILLWATER – Later this week NFL teams will make their final roster moves heading into the start of the 2025 season. The news is starting to become much more clear and clear-cut for the Oklahoma State rookies trying to make it to the “league”.

On Saturday night, former Cowboys All-American running back and Doak Walker Award winner Ollie Gordon II had another good night toting the footbal as Miami beat Jacksonville 14-6 and Gordon carried eight times for 43-yards and 5.4-yards per carry. Gordon led the Dolphin in rushing each game this preseason. 

Gordon will make the team and may be as high as No. 2 on the depth chart for the opener against Indianapolis. 

We’ve told you already that Brennan Presley was the top receiver for the Los Angeles Rams this preseason and the top by receiving yards and explosive plays in the NFL.

The Rams have a clear choice, keep Presley on the 53-man roster or waive him and lose him. Presley will be picked up by any number of teams that have seen him and covet his all-around playmaking ability. The Rams have no chance to get him back for a practice squad position. 

Other things we hear are that Nick Martin is progressing and learning and the 49ers are very excited about his potential as a linebacker for them in the future. 

We are hearing really good things about offensive tackle Dalton Cooper with the Chiefs. The word is they will keep him on the 53-man roster. 

Defensive end/edge Collin Oliver missed the entire preseason with Green Bay on the PUP list with a hamstring injury and is eligible to stay on that list for four more weeks before the Packers will have to make a decision. 

Word will come this week on Joe Michalski with the Denver Broncos and Korie Black with the New York Giants. 

There are also some veteran Cowboys that will be nervous this week as well.
