STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has lost one of its better offensive weapons as tight end Josh Ford is entering the transfer portal.
Ford is now the first offensive player to enter the portal since former head coach Mike Gundy was fired. He also still has a redshirt available.
Ford checks in at 6-6 and is a sophomore out of Stillwater who has played all but one game since arriving at OSU last year. He played in all 12 games in 2024, recording 10 catches for 92 yards and one touchdown, starting in six games.
He played in the first four games of the 2025 season, recording just three catches for 45 yards and one touchdown. He had one catch for 26 yards and his lone touchdown of the season against Baylor.
While defensive tackle De’Marion Thomas was a big loss, he elected to redshirt and is practicing and sticking around to see who the new head coach is going to be. Ford is certainly the biggest name to enter the portal up to this point following the firing of coach Gundy.
His dad played college football at Baylor, his grandfather played at SMU, one uncle played at TCU and another uncle won a national championship at Texas. So, it will be interesting to see where Ford winds up out of the portal. It would certainly be tough for Cowboy fans to watch him play the Pokes should he wind up in the Big 12.
