Martin's decision falls in line with some of the talk we've heard from the Oklahoma prep community.

STILLWATER – Berryhill, Okla. offensive lineman, perhaps the top offensive line prospect in Oklahoma for the 2026 recruiting cycle, has re-committed to Oklahoma State. Martin (6-5, 295) committed to the Cowboys back in the spring and stayed with Oklahoma State for a couple of weeks after the dismissal of head coach Mike Gundy, but then he joined the ranks of the nine prospects that de-committed. Now, he’s back.

“I realized that when I first committed to Oklahoma State, honestly, that is where I wanted to be,” Martin told Pokes Report. “I love the people and I love the place. I hated to see Coach Gundy go, but sometimes you have to roll with the punches. When I recommitted schools came through but, honestly, it wasn't Stillwater and it wasn't the Cowboys."

Martin is a major part of the 7-2/5-1 season for the Chiefs, who will close out the regular season on Friday at Tulsa Cascia Hall. Martin actually plays both ways as he also is on the defensive line for Berryhill. The Chiefs will be one of the Class 3A playoff teams coming out of District 3A-4.

Martin was a preseason All-State projection and has done nothing to change that. He is a hard-nosed phyiscal player that Oklahoma State liked from the beginning. He was initially recruited by Zach Allen and then when the current offensive line staff came onboard including Andrew Mitchell and Cooper Bassett, they were unified in wanting Martin as part of the class.

This move reinforces the talk we’ve been hearing from several people including a coach that in influential in the high school community that has told us the majority of prospects in-state such as Jenks running back Kaydin Jones (now committed to Kansas), Owasso edge defender Tajh Overton (now pledged to Missouri), Bixby linebacker Trey McGlothlin, and Owasso safety Carter Langenderfer have continued to ask about and watch Oklahoma State to see what they do about hiring a head coach. I’ve been told that those players and their families are hoping a coach is hired in time for them to do what Martin has done already and reconsider Oklahoma State before signing day.

We had not been able to speak with Martin to get a comment, but we will continue to work on that.
