STILLWATER – Oklahoma State clinched its third consecutive weekend series victory with a 10-3 win over UNCW in the second game of a Saturday doubleheader at O’Brate Stadium.

The 11th-ranked Cowboys, who opened the day with a 7-6 triumph, improved to 20-7-1 on the season; UNCW is now 15-11.

OSU’s corner outfielders led the way in the nightcap as Cade Cabbiness had a pair of hits and four RBIs, while Carson McCusker was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and finished a double shy of hitting for the cycle.

On the mound, starter Justin Campbell improved to 4-0 with a six-inning effort as the right-hander allowed three runs on five hits while striking out six.

Kale Davis came out of the OSU bullpen and kept the Seahawks off the scoreboard over the final three innings to record his first save of the season. Davis did not allow a hit and struck out four.

OSU jumped out to a second-inning lead when Cabbiness followed a McCusker triple with a two-run home run to right-center field.

The Pokes extended their lead in the third. An RBI single by Christian Encarnacion-Strand made the score 3-0, and Cabbiness’ two-out, two-RBI single pushed the lead to five.

The OSU advantage reached 7-0 in the fourth when a pair of runs scored on a wild pitch and an error.

The Seahawks plated their only runs in the game in the sixth to cut the OSU lead to 7-3 as UNCW rallied for three runs on three hits before a spectacular diving catch in foul territory in right field by Cabbiness ended the inning.

OSU sealed the win in the seventh when McCusker delivered his second home run of the day and third in the last three games by crushing a three-run bomb over the batter’s eye in center field.

The two teams will conclude the series Sunday with the finale rescheduled for a 2 p.m. first pitch.
