Oklahoma State’s hot streak in Big 12 play continued Saturday night as the Pokes beat No. 16 Arizona State 13-6 to clinch the series over the Sun Devils.

With the win, the Pokes improved to 33-17 overall on the season and 16-10 in Big 12 play, have now won eight-straight games in Big 12 play and have won their third-consecutive Big 12 series.

Stormy Rhodes got the start for the Pokes tonight, his fourth of the season, and earned the win to improve to 3-2 on the season. He went five innings and gave up 10 hits and just three runs.

It was another home run explosive for the Pokes as Colin Brueggemann and Alex Conover both homer twice in the game, while Aidan Meola, Brock Thompson and Danny Wallace all hit one home run apiece.

Bruggemann’s game was a big one for the senior out of Smithton, Ill., as he recorded his 200th career hit and his 49thcareer home run, effectively moving him into top 10 in OSU history, which includes some elite company.

The Cowboys plated two runs in the top of the third inning to take a 2-1 lead over the Sun Devils, before ASU got two back in the bottom of the third to make it 3-2. That’s when the flood gates opened for the Pokes as they scored six runs in the top of the fourth inning, four of which came on home runs, to effectively put the game out of reach.

They’d put three more across in the top of the eighth and two up in the top of the ninth to seal the win.

Game three between the Pokes and Sun Devils is slated for 3 p.m. CT on Sunday and will be streamed on ESPN+.
