Watch: Kenny Gajewski Talks Oklahoma State's 7-2 Win Over Stanford
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State is now one win away from advancing out of the NCAA Stillwater Regional as the Cowgirls beat Stanford 7-2 on Saturday.
Here’s what head coach Kenny Gakjewski had to say about the win.
“Good softball game here today,” Kenny Gajewski said. “It’s about like I thought it would be, tight. It didn't feel like a 7-2 game, it felt more like a one-run game. Just what it is in these types of games. Thought Ruby [Meylan] was good, I don't think she will tell you that she thinks she was she was her very best but was good enough and very proud of her for grinding through. She commanded the strike zone. One walk, I think that's the key to her right now is she's making them put the ball in play and get hits instead of giving them free passes.
“Our defense was good again. Thought that coach [Greg Bergeron] had us in some great spots when they hit balls. That's [Ruby] executing the spots, and then we had the three big [home runs] that were the difference in this game.”
