STILLWATER – Former Oklahoma State slugger Nolan Schubart is on the move. On Sunday, the Lake County Captains, the Single-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians, announced the promotion of Schubart to the Double-A Akron RubberDucks.
Schubart, who was drafted by the Guardians in the third round of the 2025 MLB Draft, has had a solid spring and start to the summer for Lake County. He’s hitting .243 on the season in 75 games. In 268 at-bats, Schubart has 65 hits, 13 doubles, one triple and 20 home runs.
He has 69 RBIs, 114 strikeouts to 68 walks. His slugging percentage is .522 and an OPS of .919.
Also on the move is former Cowboy pitcher, Harrison Bodendorf, also in the Guardians’ organization up to the Lake County Captains.
Bodendorf started the season with the low-A Hill City Howlers, before spending a little time with the ACL Guardians, Cleveland’s rookie team out in Arizona.
He’s currently sitting with a 0-2 record, but has a 2.84 ERA in 10 games, eight of those being starts. In 38 innings, Bodendorf has recorded 54 strikeouts to 17 walks, giving up just two home runs.
