TULSA – Oklahoma State fans came in to Saturday’s season opener at Tulsa believing in what they had heard. New coach Eric Morris and his cast of offensive playmakers like quarterback Drew Mestemaker, running back Caleb Hawkins and receivers like Wyatt Young, Chris Barnes and Justin Bowick would go fast, go big and get home on a lot of drives.
It didn’t happen at Chapman Stadium. Tulsa sent the Cowboys back on the turnpike to Stillwater with a 24-10 loss.
