OSU Athletics Announces Full Capacity Crowds Rest of Spring

STILLWATER – Huge news out of Stillwater Sunday morning as the Oklahoma State athletic department announced a return to full capacity crowds for the remainder of the home sporting events this spring.

The capacity increase will go into effect Sunday morning with the third Bedlam softball game kicking off at 11 a.m., and will extend for the remaining six Cowboy baseball home games in O’Brate Stadium.

“I can’t wait to see what O’Brate Stadium looks like when it’s packed,” head coach Josh Holliday said in the release by the athletic department. “Crowds to this point have been fantastic, so I can’t even imagine the energy in our park once all of our fans are allowed in.”

It’s been nearly 14 months since the reduction of crowds around the world due to the pandemic. There have been a number of teams and sports across America to allow full capacity crowds back in stadiums, with Oklahoma State being the most recent.

With how electric the Bedlam softball series has been the last two days, including the No. 7 Cowgirls knocking off No. 1 OU in game one to end a 24-game losing streak to the Sooners, I would expect Cowgirl Stadium to be busting at the seams.

According to the release sent out by the athletic department, “Sunday’s Cowgirl softball game against Oklahoma will have limited tickets available at the gate. OSU baseball hosts Baylor from May 14-16 and New Orleans from May 20-22. Tickets for both series go on sale to the general public at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11 at okstate.com/tickets or by calling/texting 877-ALL-4-OSU.

“Masks are required for all fans except when actively eating or drinking, and hand sanitizing stations are available throughout Cowgirl Stadium and O’Brate Stadium. Mobile tickets and parking passes will be in use, and OSU’s clear-bag policy remains in effect.”

Finally. Way, way overdue. The capacity limits, for outdoor venues, were absurd.

Agreed... glad to see some places in the country are opening up...

randomly dictated numbers (25%) were very absurd to begin with, and very unscientific.

Go Pokes... I hope we can sell-out
