STILLWATER – We are just about two hours away from kickoff in Stillwater for the Big 12 showdown between No. 12 Utah and No. 14 Oklahoma State. The biggest suspense on the injury front involved Utah quarterback Cam Rising and the crazy bouncing around of the point spread for the game is likely a product of information being gleaned from the Utah program. At this stage all information points to Rising playing and likely with a glove on his throwing hand to protect the injury on his ring finger.

Rising’s ring finger on his throwing hand last Saturday at Utah State.

Rising injured the finger and hand when he was shoved into the Baylor Gatorade cart on the sideline two weeks ago in the 23-12 win over the Bears in Salt Lake City. There probably should have been a flag on the play, but there wasn’t. Rising left the game and missed the second half. He suited up last week at Utah State, but did not play. Freshman Isaac Wilson, brother of Zach Wilson started and played well in he 38-21 win by the Utes.

Besides Rising, Utah has lost starting cornerback Kenan Johnson to a season ending injury. The transfer cornerback from Georgia Tech was injured going down with a knee injury in the first game. Rover Linebacker Karene Reid missed last week at Utah State with a lower leg injury but is expected back today. Safety Alaka’i Gilman is injured but is also expected to play in the game in Stillwater.

Justin Wright could be back the middle of October.

Oklahoma State has no new injuries. Lke last week offensive right tackle Jake Springfield will miss the game with a lower leg injury. The other injuries are players that are out including defensive end and edge Collin Oliver, who likely won’t return until late in the season. Justin Wright, who suffered a PCL knee sprain was back at practice this week but not full speed. He is likely going to miss action up to the open week but could be back for the BYU game on Oct. 18.

Also out for the Cowboys are slot receiver Da’Wain Lofton with a broken finger and Jalen Pope with a fractured jaw.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Looks like they moved the line again to OSU -1. Maybe Rising is starting but because he's hurt we are favored?

They have played games for two weeks with this situation but it didn't matter today because Wilson did enough with help from their ground attack to win!! Their DEFENSE SHOULD RECEIVE A TON OF CREDIT BECAUSE THEY REALLY WON THE GAME FOR THEM!!!
