STILLWATER – Oklahoma State is set to meet virtually with another transfer ahead of the spring signing period. According to a report from Adam Zagoria, Mike Boynton and Co. are set to meet virtually with Fordham center, Joel Soriano on Tuesday.
Soriano, entered the transfer portal earlier this week, has been contacted by Oklahoma State, Illinois, Pitt, Creighton, South Carolina, St. John’s and Penn State among others. Soriano also met with Pittsburgh and St. John’s on Friday, and I wouldn’t expect Oklahoma State to be the last school moving forward either.
Soriano, a 6-10, 250-pound sophomore this past season out of Yonkers, N.Y., averaged 10.6 points and 9.0 rebounds in seven games. As a freshman, Soriano played in 30 games, starting 12, and averaged 4.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.
As I wrote about earlier this week, another big to keep an eye on is Western Carolina forward Xavier Cork. Cork averaged 12.7 points on 64.1% shooting from the field and 61 rebounds per game this past season.
