Roster Outlook 2025-26: Steve Lutz and Co. Have Work Cut Out

NIT seems like a stretch, considering our 15-17 record.

I'm just wondering if the new tournament (16 teams) could draw away from the NIT field, and possibly make them take a few teams that otherwise might not be eligible.

I would love an NIT bid for these kids.

I'd rather see our coaches get started on recruitment rather than an NIT bid and any further development effoets or reward of 2 or 3 returners from a losing program.

...., but the kids deserve to play again. The coaches have been here a year already, they'd better not just be getting started on recruiting.

We probably already have all the HS kids that we're going to take, and the portal kids aren't available yet.

Don't we have a whole freaking staff whose whole job is to watch and evaluate the portal players.

I don't see any down side from the team getting to play on, and I would think that would HELP recruiting because the kids would have more to judge on whether Lutz can get to post season regularly.
