We Know that Oklahoma State and Eric Morris Will Open at Tulsa on Sept. 5
STILLWATER – New Oklahoma State head coach Eric Morris will open his Cowboys era in a familiar stadium at the University of Tulsa and Chapman Stadium on the TU campus on Saturday, Sept. 5. The Cowboys have often, especially at home, opened on the Labor Day weekend with a Thursday kickoff. This game belongs to Tulsa and the American Conference television partners, which are ESPN and CBS Sports Network. No word on kickoff time, but it would likely be early or afternoon unless it is on ESPN+ and then it would be an evening kick.
Morris has faced Tulsa twice, but never at Chapman Stadium. His North Texas teams beat Tulsa on Nov. 18, 2023, 35-28. They also won over the Golden Hurricane on Sept. 28 in Denton, 52-20.
Morris has never faced Tre Lamb, who beat Oklahoma State and put a “nail in the coffin” in the Mike Gundy era with a 19-13 win at Boone Pickens Stadium.
Recently at a Tulsa home basketball game, TU head coach Tre Lamb fueled the flames of the “Turnpike Rivalry”.
“We’ll beat their ass again,” Lamb told the Tulsa crowd as he encouraged them to attend the game on Sept. 5.

If Oklahoma State winds up with the Big 12 moving any game to a Friday night as they will some. I see that game at Houston as a real possibility. Maybe the game at Arizona State.
