MaxPreps Tabs Braylin Presley Top Three Running Back Going Into 2021 Season

Mike Gundy and Co. have done a great job so far putting together the 2022 class, especially when it comes to talent from Oklahoma. The class features four of the top football players in the state and will easily be one of the best in-state hauls we’ve seen, or could see, in a very long time.

One of the in-state guys everyone was excited to hear commit is Bixby athlete, Braylin Presley, also younger brother to current Cowboy receiver Brennan Presley. Braylin’s status in the 2022 class continues to grow as he was tabbed the No. 3 overall running back in the country going into the 2021 season, according to MaxPreps.

Braylin is tabbed as a receiver in Oklahoma State’s class, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be used in other areas. He was tabbed the 2020 MaxPreps Oklahoma Football Player of the Year, as well as a MaxPreps 2020 Junior All-American following a stellar junior season. He carried the ball for 1,744 yards and 25 touchdowns, as well as hauling in 57 passes for 727 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was the tip of the spear for the Spartans as they went 11-0 and won a third-consecutive Oklahoma 6A Division II championship.

What really put Braylin on the national map though was his performance against Booker T. Washington this past season. The game was nationally televised, and Presley went out and put up 419 yards and five touchdowns.

Up to this point in his career, Presley has amassed an impressive 4,892 total yards and 77 total touchdowns, 3,873 yards and 58 touchdowns coming on the ground.

I hope we are able to utilize this young mans extreme talents in ways that will maximize his abilities and production. It's way early and different style but and I never dreamed I would ever even be able to compare anybody to, dare I say it , GOAT 2. This guy is unbelievable and so is his brother. We could be in for some very entertaining and exciting football in the coming years at OSU. I mean I've watched his highlights and that ESPN game and I have yet to see him take a direct hit. If he was 3 and a half feet tall and 75 lbs we wouldn't have to worry about wear and tear , the guy never gets hit. lol

I made the same comparison in an earlier story about Braylin about a month or so ago... He does have an uncanny similarity in running style as the GOAT21

he'll be playing WR won't he? almost certainly.

He reminds me more of The human Cheetah, who we obviously should have been playing at WR and special teams the whole time.

He's got a whole nother HS season, so I guess we'll find out more as time goes on. I hope that our RBs are bigger and faster than that... but if he puts on some serious beef then "maybe" he could be durable enough to play RB at this level. We only have Nixon in the 2021 class (and the transfer Warren), and most of our RBs are Seniors, so who knows, we may have to play him at RB.

We already have two 4-star RBs in the 2022 class, and both of them weigh more than a buck fifty.

If he can run his first kick return to the house, then we might have something to talk about. Maybe.

CaliforniaCowboy , I'm excited about this years rb recruits and I guess from what I gather from the boards that Braylin is considered a wr recruit or an athlete. I just hope we are able to utilize his talents , as well as our rb's to the max.

oh, I"m with you... I'd be thrilled to death if he could end up being a Darren Sproles type of player.

Yeah, I'm not saying anything about what position Presley2 projects to play at O-State, just that when he has the ball his moves/jukes/speed reminds me very much of GOAT21. Just get him prepared to get on the field and then let him play

I guess.... but 21 was flat out strong, and could bounce off of, or run through, arm tackles. You flat had to wrap him up to bring him down. Preseley is just too small. If he puts on some weight and muscle, then maybe...

Like I said, he's more like a Darren Sproles, or an Eric Metcalf, although metcalf was listed as 5-10, 190 in college (maybe soaking wet as a Senior, with his cleats on)

He (Metcalf) was the 1987 Southwest Conference player of the year and a second team All-American. He is the only player in Texas history to lead the team in all-purpose yards all four years. He holds every school receiving record for a running back.

not the GOAT... not for a HS Junior.

I don't disagree, Cali....I never said anything about GOAT other than comparing his running style to Sanders'. BUT...I do think he will do well on the TBP turf when he gets his chance.
