The Pokes just wrapped Fall Camp on Sunday with a strong showing from the defense. This is also the second year in a row Mike Gundy will have the team out on the practice fields of the Sherman Smith Indoor on the first day of classes.

“Normally, Oklahoma State has taken the day off from practice for the first day of classes. For the second year in a row Gundy is going to have the Cowboys out there the afternoon following the first morning and early afternoon of classes. This is when the team generally splits into the top two units, plus form scout teams to run the opponents’ plays and schemes. There are still three weeks until the first game, so they are likely going to wait a few days and keep practices the same for now.”

The Pokes kick the 2021 season off at home against Missouri State on Sept. 4. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. CT on ESPN+.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Just goes to show you the Coaches probably know more than the Berry Tramels and Jenni Carlsons of the world

I think one poll shows which teams they would be wary of playing, and the other one shows which teams they want to blather on about to show how smart they are about the parifarie outside the x's and o's.

I'm pretty sure that's how it goes...

I think the team is hurt by the general perception that our QB Spencer Sanders is too much of a turnover machine to be ranked.

maybe... more likely no triplets, so no media hype... but the coaches know better.

We are simply the Rodney Dangerfield of college football -- we get no respect.

And if we do, we usually blow it.

We have earned this reputation of being overlooked. Of course, the consistent overhyping of teams like UT, Notre Dame, aTm and the like are annoying to most of us.
But, when you look at a young coach and school like Iowa State that hasn't been as consistent a winner as OSU has, but they get the benefit of the doubt in higher rankings just leads to one conclusion -- that OSU will blow it.

We OSU fans are the only ones that hold our team in high esteem.

We don't recruit well, we don't have the best game day management and Gundy can't beat ou. In fact, he can't even play them competitively. Every time we have a national pundit or tv broadcaster come out in support of our preseason chances, they are humiliated by mid-season.
Until Gundy can win more than 7-8 games a year, get used to these rankings which seem disrespectful to us, but realistic to those that make their living on ranking teams.
I know there are rules, but do we really want to follow them now?

I don't think that we'll ever advance so long as Gundy has any input at all on the Offense.

Our offense was pretty good when we hired Holgy and before Gundy started tinkering with it...
