Braylin Presley Named 2021-22 Gatorade Oklahoma Football Player of the Year
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State commitment Braylin Presley caps off an incredible senior season with being named the best football player in the state. On Tuesday morning, Presley was named the 2021-22 Gatorade Oklahoma Football Player of the Year.
Presley becomes the third-straight Oklahoma State commit to earn the distinction as safety Kendal Daniels (2020-21) and Brennan Presley (2019-20) were the previous two.
Presley finished his senior season with 947 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns on just 95 carries through 12 games, as well as 632 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. He capped his year off with a rather impressive performance in the 6A-II state championship game in which he ran the ball 16 times for 171 yards and three touchdowns. He also threw for a 76-yard touchdown on a halfback option over the middle in the 63-14 rout of Edmond Deer Creek.
Bixby’s 2021 football season was one for the record books, literally. The Spartans won their 49th-straight game last week as they won their seventh state championship in the past eight years, a third-straight title. The 49th win broke the Oklahoma 11-man football record passing the previous record of 48 set by Wagoner and none other than Cowboy linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez.
