Oklahoma State Offers Pair of 2023 Texas Four-Star Prospects
The month of February continues to be a busy month of recruiting for Oklahoma State football as the staff extended offers to a pair of 2023 four-star prospects out of the Lone Star State.
Ashton Porter – Cypress Ranch – DL – 2023
The top defensive line prospect out of the Houston area, Ashton Porter is a four-star prospect out of Cy Ranch in the 2023 class. Checking in at 6-3, 240-pounds, Porter currently holds 25+ offers, including Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Baylor, Texas, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Ole Miss, TCU and Tennessee among others.
It appears that Arkansas, Baylor and Texas are the front runners in Porter’s recruiting process, but with the Cowboys’ recent success with the 2022 class, I wouldn’t count out Greg Richmond and new DC Derek Mason.

This past season as a junior, Porter was solid for the Mustangs as he recorded 44 total tackles, 19 tackles for loss, eight quarterback hurries, three sacks and one pass breakup.
He was just as solid as a sophomore in 2020 as he recorded 32 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, four sacks and two forced fumbles, which earned him Texas 16-6A First Team All-District honors.
Chance Rucker – Denton (Ryan) – CB – 2023
One of the rising stars out of the Lone Star State in the 2023 class, Chance Rucker checks in as the No. 24 corner prospect and the No. 227 overall prospect in the country. Rucker checks in at 6-1, 180-pounds and currently holds close to 20 offers, which include Oklahoma State, Baylor, Florida State, Kentucky, Miami, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Texas and Texas A&M.
Following his junior season, Rucker was named the Texas District 5-5A-I Defensive Newcomer of the Year, as he helped Ryan to a trip to the quarterfinals in the 5A state playoffs. He recorded 29 total tackles, three pass breakups and two interceptions in 14 games.
The Cowboys currently hold four commitments in the 2023 class, two of which are on the defensive side of the ball, DL Jaedon Foreman out of Del City, OK, and safety Kam Franklin out of Oak Grove, LA.
