Oklahoma State Lands NC State Transfer Center Isaiah Miranda

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State basketball has landed its fourth player out of the transfer portal with NC State big man, Isaiah Miranda.

Miranda, who took to Instagram Sunday morning to make the announcement, commits to the Pokes following an official visit this past weekend.

Checking in at 7-0, 200 pounds, Miranda had declared for the NBA Draft and was in the transfer portal up until this past Wednesday before withdrawing his name before the deadline to remain in.

Miranda, who was originally a part of the 2023 signing class, graduated early this past December and joined NC State at midseason. However, he entered the transfer portal back on May 9 after not having played a single minute during the spring semester.

He has a 7-foot-4 wingspan, as well as a 9-foot-4 standing reach, which gives Mike Boynton and Co. a huge boost in the signing class, especially with the loss of both Kalib Boone and Moussa Cisse to the transfer portal. Miranda was a top-50 national prospect in the 2023 class, also further boosting the Pokes’ signing class.

With the addition, the Cowboys stay at the No. 9 spot in the country in the ’23 signing class.

Boynton and Co. signed five freshmen: F/C Brandon Garrison, wing Eric Dailey Jr., CG Jamyron Keller, G/F Justin McBride and G/F Connor Dow. They’ve also signed transfer guards Javon Small (East Carolina), Jarius Hicklen (North Florida) and big man Mike Marsh (Jacksonville).

Shouldn't be any excuses next season for not having a successful team. Dead wood is cleared. Someone must have come up with some NIL $ for this kid. Hopefully they can bulk him up before the season starts. On paper, a good prospect. Do or die season for coach Mike. M. We hope he did not play at NC State only because they had better big men and did not need him last season.
My own expectation for the team is that they at least make it to the NCAA tournament and win first game.
With a young team I don't expect them to finish high in the Big 12. But just get enough W's to make it to the big dance.

Yeah it looks like NC State got some solid play, for the most part, out of their big men last season. Plus Miranda graduated early to arrive on campus in Dec. Technically he should've been in high school until recently. So I'm sure that also played into him not playing as he probably wasn't quite ready for that leap. Getting him for the summer and fall should really benefit him going into the season.

He needs about 25 plus pounds on that frame if he is going to play in the interior!

That's what we say every year about every Mike Boynton team.

... and I do not see a Cade Cunningham on this team.... so cross your fingers.

we should not be in this mess six years into his tenure...
