Why is Doug Gottlieb Hanging Out at Pokes Practice and Originating His Radio Show There?

STILLWATER – I know Doug Gottlieb. I was covering the Cowboys in basketball when Eddie Sutton toook in the very talented son of a former assistant coach he’d had in Bob Gottlieb. Doug was an ultra talented point guard, one of the better passers that I’ve every been around in person, that had got in trouble at Notre Dame. Some things are meant to be and Gottlieb coming to Stillwater and being a Cowboys at that time was one of those.

Great story. I can relate to the funding of a daughter that is an equestrian rider for sure. He is right that Coach really does seem to be a good dude. GO pokes!

Really interesting article. Good opportunity for Gottlieb to dip his toes in the coaching pool and see if it is right for him and for the Pokes to benefit from his experience. Go Pokes!

how could a guy that has never coached be an analyst?

Aren't football "analysts" actually former EXPERIENCED coaches nearing retirement?

Maybe he can teach someone to be a damn point guard!!!! Just don't let him near free throw practice, keep that in Kenton's wheelhouse!!!
