Josh Holliday and Cowboy Baseball Hosting Top Pitching Prospect from Cali
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State baseball and Josh Holliday have always been strong in recruiting and they have a chance to really bring in a prize this weekend as baseball is hosting Murrieta, Calf. and Chaparral High School pitching prospect Braylon Doughty.
I saw Holliday and his family with Doughty going to eat on Thursday evening and I had to do a double take because he really does look like he could be the younger brother of PGA and Ryder Cup golfer Rickie Fowler. You can see in the picture we pulled from his profile with The Baseball Factory that he has that look.
Doughty is a good looking young man with a powerful right arm. He is proected as a first-round MLB Draft pick. Last season he had a strong season and in his prep career has an 8-2 record with 21 appearances and a 1.61 era. He has struck out 123 hitters in 82 and 2/3rds innings of work. Opponents are hitting .150 off Doughty.

He also plays some outfield and hit .449 last season with seven doubles, three triples, and a pair of home runs. He had 14 RBI.
A good student, Doughty is one of those new baseball prospects that realizes three years of high caliber college baseball could have him better prepared for the major league show.
