Oklahoma State Lands Santa Barbara Transfer Pitcher Hudson Barrett
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has landed left-handed pitcher Hudson Barrett out of the transfer portal.
Barrett comes to Stillwater from UC-Santa Barbara, where he’s coming off two season-ending injuries.
The 6-5, 225-pound lefty is out of Bakersfield, CA, and has spent the past three seasons with the Gauchos, where he had an All-American freshman season. He was an NCBWA All-America third team selection and an NCBWA Freshman All-America first team selection. He finished the season with a 1.92 ERA across 61 innings in 21 appearances. He recorded 82 strikeouts to 32 walks, while holding opponents to a .195 batting average.
As a sophomore, Barrett made just two appearances before a season-ending arm injury. He came back this past season and threw in three games, recording a 1.93 ERA. His season, unfortunately, was cut short with a second arm injury.
Barrett is considered one of the top transfer pitchers this cycle.
