Nolan Schubart and Harrison Bodendorf Both Sign With Cleveland Guardians
STILLWATER – Two Oklahoma State Cowboys have signed with the Cleveland Guardians.
Over the weekend, it was announced hitter/outfield Nolan Schubart and pitcher Harrison Bodendorf have both signed their contracts with the Guardians.
Schubart, who was drafted 101st overall, signed for $730,000, just under his slot value of $750,400.
As for Bodendorf, who was drafted 312th overall, his contract details have not been announced yet.
This past season as a junior, Schubart climbed into the top 10 all time in several categories for Cowboy baseball. He finished the season with a .299 averaged from the plate in 54 games, starting in all 54. In 197 at-bats, he recorded 59 hits, including nine doubles and 19 home runs. He posted 57 RBIs and struck out 60 times with 47 walks.
His 19 home runs gave him 59 career bombs, which ranks fourth all-time in program history. That equates to a home run every 10 at-bats. He’s also ninth all-time with a .705 slugging percentage and 10th with 199 career RBIs.
Bodendorf had a stellar single season in Stillwater, recording a 10-1 overall record with a 3.30 ERA in 17 appearances. He was tabbed the Big 12 Co-Newcomer of the Year and an All-Big 12 First Team pitcher.
