STILLWATER – After just 32 games at the Double-A level, former Oklahoma State standout, Carson Benge, is on the move again. It was announced on Monday Benge has been promoted to AAA Syracuse.
Benge has been one of the fastest risers in baseball as he spent just over a month with the Double-A Binghamton, where he absolutely raked. In the 32 games, he slashed an impressive .317/.407/.571 with 15 extra base hits, eight home runs and 23 RBIs.

Benge joins fellow former Cowboy standout, Nolan McLean, who was promoted to Syracuse back in late May. In 16 games in Syracuse, McLean has a 2.78 ERA in 87 innings pitched. He’s recorded 97 strikeouts to 38 walks, while holding hitters to a .185 batting average. In his appearances, McLean has a 5-4 overall record.
Benge is currently the Mets’ No. 3 overall prospect, and the fifth overall outfield prospect in baseball.
