STILLWATER – Nolan McLean is the latest Oklahoma State player to make it to the Majors as he’s set to make his MLB debut for the New York Mets this weekend.
The Mets will be at home against the Seattle Mariners with a 3:10 p.m. CT start. It doesn’t appear the game is being televised.
McLean was promoted to the Mets’ Triple-A team in Syracuse in late May. Since then, he’s been one of the best pitchers in the Minors as he’s put together a 2.78 ERA across 87 innings in 16 games. He’s recorded 97 strikeouts to 38 walks while holding opponents to just a .185 batting average.
He’s currently the No. 37 overall prospect in baseball.
It won’t be long before McLean’s fellow Cowboy, and now former teammate, Carson Benge, is called up to the Bigs as he was just promoted to Syracuse after just 32 games at Double-A Binghamton.
