Justin Wrobleski Joined All-Time Greats With All-Star Game Performance
STILLWATER – It was a great night of baseball for former Oklahoma State pitcher Justin Wrobleski as he entered some elite company with his performance at the 2026 MLB All-Star Game Tuesday night.
The Dodgers lefty went two innings and recorded five strikeouts, one hit and one earned run. With his performance, he became the first pitcher since Pedro Martínez in 1999 to strikeout five batters in a single All-Star Game. He joined more elite company as tied Fernando Valenzuela (1986) and Don Drysdale (1959) for most strikeouts by a Dodgers pitcher in All-Star games.
As an aside, he also became the first pitcher since Corbin Burnes in 2021 to throw two innings.
The earned run he gave up was a solo home run in the top of eighth inning to his former teammate with the Tulsa Drillers, Miguel Vargas.
Wrobleski also celebrated his birthday last night, becoming the first former OSU player to celebrate their birthday while playing in an All-Star Game since Robin Ventura on July 14, 1992.
Through 16 games this season, Wrobleski is 10-2 in 15 starts, with an ERA of 2.69 and a WHIP of 1.02. In 100.1 innings, he’s recorded 73 strikeouts to 20 walks and eight home runs. Through all of last season, Wrobleski recorded 76 total strikeouts. He’ll have that number cleared with his next outing.
