STILLWATER – Oklahoma State baseball commit, Ethan Holliday, picked up a prestigious  honor over the weekend as it was announced he was selected as part of USA Baseball’s U18 national team.

The team is set to compete in the upcoming 2024 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U18 Baseball World Cup Americas Qualifier in Panama City, Panama. The tournament takes place August 2-11.

“After a tremendously competitive Training Camp, we are excited to name our final twenty-player roster,” said 18U National Team Manager Rick Eckstein said in the release. “We believe that we have put together a roster that is built to win and represent the United States well in international competition. We will spend the next week and a half preparing to the best of our abilities to win a gold medal in Panama.”

Holliday was a part of the 2022 WBSC U15 Baseball World Cup title team.

Ethan Holliday, the nephew of current OSU head coach, Josh Holliday, grandson of former OSU head coach Tom Holliday, son of MLB champion Matt Holliday and brother of former OSU commit, and the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft, Jackson Holliday, is coming off a great junior season for the Stillwater Pioneers as he helped led them to the 6A state semifinals with a .402 batting average, which included 12 home runs and 40 RBIs.
