Oklahoma State Football Transfer Portal Tracker

December 25, 2024

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State finished its 2024 season as one of the worst teams in college football, going 3-7 overall and 0-9 in Big 12 play.

With the results, and the possible House vs. NCAA settlement coming in the spring, the Cowboys are expected to have a massive transfer portal period, both in and out of the program.

The transfer portal officially opens December 9th, but players are allowed to announce their intentions of transfer leading into the portal window, which two former players have already done. The news of former offensive lineman Jason Brooks entering the portal happened back in September after it was revealed the NCAA didn’t grant an extra year of eligibility. Then on November 30, receiver Da’Wain Lofton announced he was entering the portal.

As Robert Allen has been reporting for weeks, the Cowboys are set to turnover between 50-70% of the roster in the coming months.

This is has all the makings of being the craziest portal periods for the Cowboys, as well as just about every other team in college football. Along with this tracker, we’ll have individual stories on players both entering the portal and coming into the program from the portal.

This article will be updated with any news transfer portal news involving the Cowboys.

Just an FYI - Texas A&M had 14 enter the portal on the first day, and more are expected to enter.

I see the offers list and they are mostly from really small schools. With the extra NIL why aren't we offering some bigger names? Anyone like Miller Moss?

Just have to hope you're getting some steals like ASU did with Scataboo. I imagine an NIL seeking DT from LSU doesn't come cheap or easily to OSU. But if we catch a few of those, great.

Some guys at small schools and juco have trouble with grades and are really good so we shall see. The list just doesn't jump off the page so far.

Also I'd imagine the market may have a drop off point this year with the volume it will see. So later on their may be some guys willing to take what they can get who are from P4 programs.

I was hoping to see Aj Green out there next year. The job is wide open not sure why he would leave.

Its hard to believe that these players are demanding 50k just to visit! Blue blood schools are offering other P4 schools starters 500k/750k to be a backup. Its amazing what is going on in this portal crazy time. There are only about 25 or 30 schools that might be able to sustain at this rate! I'm not sure we are one of them?

I don't want to be mean here but he is kind of damaged goods after this injury! Good Luck to him!

I didn't look into the money situation but he's the only guy to visit. Unsure if we even have any offers on anyone else.

Zach--Thanks for updating this list. Do you have any intel on any walk-ons from last season being offered scholarships?

Keep in mind that there is a lot of misinformation out there. Not much can be substantiated yet. Almost any time a program loses a recruit it's blamed on another school paying crazy $. Sometimes it's true sometimes it's not.

I don't believe there are any walk-ons who have been offered scholarships, but they're definitely going to keep a few around.

by "going to keep a few around", do you mean that they plan to offer a few of them scholarships when the roster limit is approved?

I think there are two things going on RA said 4-5 were told they were invited to stay on, the rest were told they would need to go somewhere else.

However, all were told they were welcome to stay through the spring. The rules won't change until next Fall. They plan is to try to give lower level coaches access at times to see these players. Basically they're trying to help them find new homes.

Pribula from Penn State might be worth getting in here. Dual Threat guy.

frankly, I can't name even one dual threat QB that we've ever had in here that had any NFL potential.

Tone Jones perhaps. (Robinson wasn't really dual threat, IMO, just mobile) - while we've had lots better luck with more traditional drop back QBs like Fields, Weeden, Rudolph, M Gundy, Weatherbie, Rusty Hilger, etc.

I agree but if Gundy takes his attitude from this season to next year he is wanting a qb that can run. I'm all for the best available guy, but he just went to OU

it may be interesting to see if the new OC or QB coach have an impact on 1) the offensive approach, and 2) the type QB needed to run such offense.

we should find out soon

Robinson had over 400 rushing attempts for over 1,800 yds and 22 TDs. Jones had just over 500 yds rushing with 16 TDs. Yeah, perhaps Jones's was a dual threat and Robinson wasn't. SMH

It has been quiet on that front. I would assume the new coaches have met with and are evaluating who is on the roaster. Could be interesting to see what happens.

Didn't Robinson play at least four years in the NFL Gumby? He had a pretty good arm and of course outstanding mobility!

To be completely fair, Zac was a WR converted to a duel threat QB that ultimately developed a pretty good arm.

LOL, what's the matter you couldn't refute my main point, so you snipe at trivialities'? Robinson had 8,300 career passing yards, which is more than the TOTAL offensive yards of all but 3 of our career QBs

Main Point: "we've had lots better luck with more traditional drop back QBs"

Secondary Point: "name even one dual threat QB that we've ever had in here that had any NFL potential"

Sure, let's call Robinson a dual threat... it still means that we have consistently have better teams with drop back QBs, not dual threat guys, which is about all we have on the roster now.

None of the dual threats we can get will get us any better than decent, most of the time. These guys coming in here are not Michael Vick, or McNab, or Bridgewater, or that caliber of dual-threat.
